Each February, Sydney comes alive in a sea of rainbow flags, glitter and song. Culminating in the world-renowned Mardi Gras Parade held on the first Saturday of March, marchers make their way from Hyde Park in the Sydney CBD, up Oxford Street - the city's renowned LGBTQI+ haunt, through Taylor's Square (home to the rainbow crossing) and down Flinders Street.
If you've never watched the parade in person or experienced the magic and energy of a Sydney Mardi Gras then put it on your bucket list (you can also watch it on Youtube)! Member of the LGBTIQ+ Community or Ally - we promise it's not to be missed!

The 2024 theme, 'Our Future...' celebrates the many facets of LGBTIQ+ culture and the individuals who have helped shape the community into what it is today. Camilla Franks asked three of her dear friends to share their experiences and tell us what makes them most excited about the bright, bright future we all share.
'I really look forward to the future, because already the rights that we've won were unimaginable to me when I first began my jouney... I look at Trans kids today and I think, What a lovely future they'll have. - Katherine Wolfgramme, Trans Advocate and Icon
'I think what's really exciting to me as a mother is raising two beautiful children, in this current society where everyone is accepted for who they are, who they want to be, who they want to love what they want to look like, and the life they want to lead' - Sophie Cacia, Mother and Business Owner
'The future for queer people is so bright. Things are changing, the way the world is going, we're more accepting with who people want to be and that's how it should be. I'm the future. You're the future. We're all the future. There's nothing we can't do if we put our minds to it' - Hollywould Star, Drag Performer and Singer.
