Our in-house artisans offer a fresh perspective on 18th-century French decorative treasures from The Met collection, bringing together delicate details from potpourri vases, perfume burners, snuffboxes and ornate botanical plates.

“I'm drawn by an invisible thread through labyrinths of fine porcelain, gilt bronze objects and opulent textiles in the Museum's collection of 17th- and 18th-century French decorative artworks. Many of these pieces are on display in a recreation of an 18th-century boudoir from the Hôtel de Crillon in Paris, which echoes with the warmth of long-faded footsteps.”
